Doburoku is made in the shrine's sake brewery in late January, when the shrine is covered in snow, using unique techniques that have been passed down since ancient times. At around 3:30pm, after the "Doburoku Ceremony" to dedicate the sake to the shrine is completed, the sake is transferred from the large sake barrel into a serving container called a "kittate," and the hostesses in aprons go around pouring each guest a cup of doburoku, filling the venue with a rich aroma. Doburoku is said to have been used for ceremonies since the Wadou period (about 1,300 years ago).

reservations can be made for up to 5 people per group.
